Join the community

The time has now obviously ripened for Khula Dhamma to attract more members... We are actively seeking like-minded, enthusiastic, creative and committed individuals, couples and families to join us on this most fulfilling and worthy journey. We especially hope to attract families with CHILDREN, artists, older generations and Xhosa or Xhosa-speaking- from diverse ethnic backgrounds who all feel up to the challenges and rewards of simple, yet vivacious community living.

After spending some time here on our farm, a visitor may express an interest in joining our community. From then on (s)he/they become a potential member(families will be considered as one) and will embark upon a one year ‘integration phase’ that is divided into four cycles; 1, 2, 3 and 6 months respectively, which would ideally be completed within 18 months. At the end of each cycle we meet together to review our relationship and compatibility. With tribal consensus the budding resident will bloom onto the next cycle.

Finally, at the completion of integration, and with unanimous support from the community, the budding resident blossoms into a radiant tribe's member- PARTY TIME! Legally, they will become a trust member.

Our feelings expressed above should give a fairly clear impression on how to join, however, being still very much in the beginning stages, we aim to let the process flow organically and are always open to adapting and customising to the needs and means of the individual, couple or family...
